I have available a furnished room approximately 12x13 with a full sized bed () and small private bathroom in the hallway (shower, no tub)in my row house in the historic district of Capitol Hill. The room has a bedside table with lamp along with a small closet and good shelf space. There is one other bedroom in the house with its own bathroom which is rented to one other person. The room is only available from late May through October each year. You would have use of the rest of the house (except front bedroom/bathroom and basement apartment) which includes the dining area, well-equipped kitchen, living room, rear deck and fenced yard. The house is air conditioned. Washer and dryer in the basement. Monthly rent includes utilities and internet. The rule of thumb is that your monthly income should be approximately three times the amount of rent. If you do not meet this requirement you could get your parents to sign as Guarantors. if you are an intern. I do not have cable tv but, rather, a small tv with local broadcast stations and an indoor antenna and not the greatest reception. The cross streets are 6th and D streets, NE. Union Station for the red line metro is about a 12 minute walk from the house, as is the U. S. Capitol building and Senate Office Buildings. House Office Buildings take longer. Eastern Market Metro Station and Trader Joes grocery store are about 15 minutes walk away. Whole Foods, Giant grocery stores and CVS shop about 8 minutes walk away. City Bike rental, D6 and 96 bus stops one or two block from house. Walk to restaurants, coffee shops, library, pharmacies, dry cleaners. This is not a party house but, rather, a clean and quiet home with no smoking, positively NO overnight guests, no drugs or pets, in a very nice neighborhood in the historic district at Stanton Park. Street parking is allowed with Zone 6 sticker obtained from the Department of Motor Vehicles. However, its less of a hassle if you use public transportation. Get the best price at ListedBuy!
