The house has been completely renovated and is in an unbeatable location three blocks from the U Street corridor. Multiple buslines (90, 92, 96, G2, G8, 80) are within a two-minute walk, with several of them stopping directly in front of the house. We're also an easy distance from Shaw, Dupont Circle, Capitol Hill, Bloomingdale and Columbia Heights. About the apartment: - 1,600 square feet, including a huge living room and a separate large dining room - Completely renovated in 2002: Granite countertops, black kitchen appliances (including dishwasher), washer and dryer, hardwood floors throughout (except tile in the kitchen and bathrooms) - Tons of cabinet space in the kitchen - We're the second and third floors of the rowhouse, so there is tons of sunlight, and the available room alone has three windows - The available bedroom is in the back of the house, away from street noise, and is approximately 11 feet x 10 feet. It does not have a closet, but it does come with an Ikea closet unit provided. It is otherwise unfurnished - The available bedroom also comes with its own private bathroom; the two other roommates are on the top floor and share one bathroom - Unfortunately, pets aren't allowed. Rent is $1,000 per month plus 1/3 of the utilities (including DVR cable and internet). You'll also need to put down a security deposit of one month's rent, and there is a one-time $35 application fee and credit check, which is done by the landlord. Your roommates are two young professionals. One is a 28-year-old male originally from Kentucky who works for a newspaper and likes bourbon, college sports, english bulldogs and running marathons. The other is a 26-year old woman from Miami who is a teacher and enjoys karaoke, traveling and reality television. We'll be looking over responses for the next few days and will invite people over toward the end of the week/weekend who we think could be a match.
