Want your very own personal summer retreat within minutes of the beach to soak up the rays, ride the waves, wiggle your toes in the sand or just do nothing? Then you need to rent an apartment in Cottage of the Octopus Lair on charming Tybee Island!Located in a quiet neighborhood near the south end of Tybee Island, this delightful beach-chic cottage with two newly renovated one-bedroom apartments is only two blocks from the beach and Tybee's only grocery store, Tybee Market.Our summer season monthly rate (June 1 - August 31) is just $1600 per month per apartment plus tax with utilities included. Our summer season weekly rate is $500 with utilities included plus tax. A one time cleaning fee of $50 is added per reservation. Each apartment is perfect for two but four can easily share. Rates are based on two per apartment. Up to two others may be added for an additional $10/person/night.Payment for each reservation is easily handled through PayPal.The upstairs and downstairs apartments are loaded and tastefully decorated beach-chic style. These cute and cozy one bedroom apartments have a combined kitchen, living room and dining area. Each living area has a full sized futon couch that can sleep two extras. The bedrooms accommodate queen size beds with comfortably firm mattresses. Spacious closets, suitcase stands and hat/coat racks keep your belongings organized. Two easy chairs are made for relaxing, reading or watching television, and each TV has DVD and VHS capabilities. Stainless steel appliances equip the kitchens. Upstairs the bar/counter seats up to six on modernistic red stools and the bathroom has an extra long bathtub that doubles as a shower. Downstairs a small mosaic dining table seats four and the bathroom has a shower. The screened front porch upstairs has two rockers while the downstairs porch has two wrought iron cushioned chairs. The porches are just right for a relaxing finish to your day in the sun. A window unit offers plenty of heat during cold months and plenty of cold air conditioning in the summer. A washer and dryer are available for your personal use and are located in the utility room off the back patio. The downstairs outside patio hosts a wrought-iron table and four chairs for you to enjoy that adult beverage after 5PM and as we all know it is always after 5PM somewhere in the world!On the south facing wall is a delightfull ocean life mural painted by world renowned artist Mary Jane Volkmann.
